The Michigan State Spartans are maintaining their momentum in spring recruiting, recently extending an offer to 2027 four-star defensive lineman Luke Starcevic. He shared the news on X, formerly Twitter.
Michigan State remains focused on attracting elite talent from across the country.
Luke Starcevic, a standout heading into his junior year at Kindred High School in North Dakota, has drawn national attention thanks to his dominant play in 2024. A two-way contributor, Starcevic excelled on the defensive line, recording 61 tackles, 26.5 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks, according to 247Sports.
He’s currently rated as a four-star prospect, the top player in North Dakota, and the No. 7 defensive lineman in the country. Overall, 247Sports ranks him No. 109 nationally—a highly sought-after recruit that Michigan State is eager to land.
With two seasons of high school football remaining, Starcevic already holds 11 scholarship offers, many from top Big Ten and Big 12 programs like Iowa, Washington, Minnesota, Kansas, and Iowa State.
Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 250 pounds, he projects as a potential early contributor at the college level. If he adds around 25 more pounds to his frame, he could become a formidable force against both the run and the pass in the Big Ten.
Spartans defensive line coach Legi Suiaunoa has been instrumental in identifying and pursuing elite defensive talent, and his efforts could pay dividends with a player like Starcevic. Securing a commitment from him would be a major boost to Michigan State’s defensive front and could help attract additional top-tier recruits.
A campus visit could be the next big step in building that relationship—something the Spartans will be pushing for in the near future.
