NFL Unveil Lions’ 2025 Season Game Schedule

ALLEN PARK The NFL is set to unveil the full 2025 schedule next week, and while the Detroit Lions won’t be heading overseas this year, they’re still expected to feature prominently in prime-time matchups.

The league continues to spotlight its schedule reveal as a marquee media event, with a three-hour special airing at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14 on NFL Network.

While the Lions’ list of opponents has been known for nearly five months, the specific dates, times, and order of the games will officially be released on May 14.

Last season, the Lions played in six prime-time games, not counting their annual Thanksgiving appearance, and also had four 4:25 p.m. kickoffs. Similar exposure is anticipated in 2025.

“This kind of visibility is great for building our fanbase and expanding the national reach of the brand,” said Lions president Rod Wood. “I think we’ve become one of the NFL’s top draws. Outside of the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving game on Fox, we were the No. 2 game on that network, and the No. 1 game on CBS, ABC, Amazon, and NBC. That says a lot. It’s good for us and for the networks, so we expect more prime-time slots and plenty of 4:25 p.m. kickoffs.”

The Lions have several marquee games on their schedule, including away trips to take on playoff contenders and top-tier teams like the Washington Commanders, Cincinnati Bengals, Philadelphia Eagles (the reigning Super Bowl champs), Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, and Los Angeles Rams.

Head coach Dan Campbell is leaning into the difficulty of the Lions’ first-place schedule, particularly the demanding road games. True to his gritty style, he’s even hoping for bad weather to further toughen the team.

“This schedule is no joke. It’s a real challenge—and I love that,” Campbell said during the NFL owners meetings. “Outdoor games, grass fields, rain, mud—I want it all. This is going to be a grind. I’ve said it before: we could be a better team this year and still lose more games. But that’s OK as long as we grow and improve from it.”

Meanwhile, DraftKings has set the over/under for Detroit’s 2025 regular season win total at 10.5. For those looking to place wagers, our DraftKings Sportsbook review offers guidance on navigating the platform.
