Oregon has once again secured two five-star commitments for its 2026 football recruiting class.
Edge rusher Richard Wesley from Sierra Canyon High School in California announced his commitment to the Ducks on Saturday. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 250 pounds, Wesley was in Eugene for Oregon’s spring game and had also recently visited Ohio State, Texas A&M, and Tennessee.
Wesley, who moved up from the 2027 class, is ranked as the No. 3 edge rusher and No. 20 overall player in the 2026 class per the 247Sports Composite. As a sophomore, he earned MaxPreps All-American honors with 44 tackles (16 for loss), nine sacks, and three forced fumbles.
With Wesley on board, Oregon now has eight commits in its 2026 class, which has climbed to No. 14 nationally and ranks third in average prospect rating, according to 247Sports. His pledge marks the program’s first commitment since safety Xavier Lherisse in February, offering a boost after three decommitments and some setbacks on the recruiting trail in recent months.
