Gophers Football Secure Major Commitments in College Football This Year

The Minnesota Golden Gophers football program welcomed a robust 2025 recruiting class, signing 20 commits on Early National Signing Day, December 4, 2024. Ranked 48th by 247Sports, 41st by Rivals, and 55th by On3, this class reflects head coach P.J. Fleck’s focus on regional talent and strategic additions from across the country.

Leading the class is Emmanuel Karmo, a four-star linebacker from Robbinsdale Cooper, Minnesota’s top-ranked prospect. The No. 38 linebacker nationally, Karmo recorded 64 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, and a pick in 2024, choosing Minnesota over Michigan and Ohio State. Another standout, Jackson Kollock, a four-star quarterback from Laguna Beach, California, flipped from Washington. Kollock threw for 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns while rushing for 315 yards and 8 scores as a senior.

In-state recruiting shone with Abu Tarawallie, a defensive lineman from Heritage Christian Academy, and Ethan Stendel, a linebacker from Caledonia, both among Minnesota’s top-10 prospects. Tarawallie, ranked No. 84 nationally at his position, had 4.5 sacks, while Stendel threw for 1,246 yards and added 57 tackles. Charlie Ryerse, a punter from Eden Prairie, flipped from Alabama, boasting a 56-yard field goal and a 45.4-yard punting average.

The class also features Bradley Martino, a four-star wide receiver from Florida with 896 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns, and Mark Handy, a versatile offensive lineman from New Mexico. Despite losing running back Shane Marshall to Georgia Tech and safety Grant Grayton to Kentucky, Minnesota bolstered its roster with talent from Ohio, Arizona, and California.

Fleck’s eighth recruiting class emphasizes athleticism and versatility, positioning the Gophers for future success in the Big Ten.
