Not Done Yet? Gophers Reportedly Set to Land Atlantic Coast Big Man

A recent X post from The Portal Report notes that the Gophers are among nine programs that have contacted Miami (FL) transfer big man Kiree Huie following his decision to decommit from UTSA earlier this week.

Huie dealt with injuries last season, appearing in just 14 games for Miami. However, during the 2023–24 season at Idaho State—his most productive college stint—he averaged 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.

At 6-foot-9, Huie could bolster Minnesota’s frontcourt depth. He started his college career at Odessa College (JUCO) in 2022–23 and still has at least one year of eligibility remaining.

The Gophers recently secured North Carolina transfer Cade Tyson and still have two open roster spots for the 2025–26 season. With limited options remaining in the portal this late into June, Huie could represent a valuable under-the-radar addition for head coach Niko Medved and his staff.
