Clemson Tigers Secure 4-Star Rusher in Recruiting Battle with Georgia, Notre Dame

CLEMSON — Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers are making waves in recruiting, potentially snagging a top prospect from SEC territory. A recent 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction favors Clemson to secure 4-star edge rusher Dre Quinn from Buford, Georgia, dealing a setback to powerhouses like Georgia and Notre Dame, who are also vying for the standout defender.

Ranked No. 264 overall and No. 26 among edge rushers in the 2026 class by 247Sports Composite, Quinn visited Clemson officially on May 30, an experience that left a strong mark. Clemson insider Austin Hannon of 247Sports predicted Wednesday that Quinn will choose the Tigers.

Landing Quinn would be a major win for Swinney’s staff, both for his talent and the statement it makes—pulling a blue-chip recruit from Buford, a Georgia stronghold, right under Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs. Clemson is also fending off Notre Dame and Texas, with Quinn set to visit both soon.

Clemson’s 2026 recruiting class is already a powerhouse, with 18 commitments and a No. 3 national ranking by 247Sports. Bolstered by offensive line commits like JR Hardrick, Leo Delaney, and Carter Scruggs, adding a dynamic pass rusher like Quinn remains a key goal.

Swinney’s early official visit weekends, hosting over 30 top-tier recruits, have fueled this momentum, positioning Clemson for an elite 2026 class. While Quinn’s decision is still pending, the Crystal Ball prediction underscores Clemson’s strong position in his recruitment.
