The Chicago Bears are ensuring stability in their front office for years to come.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team has reached a five-year contract extension with general manager Ryan Poles, keeping him in Chicago through the 2029 season.
Ryan Poles has served as the Chicago Bears’ general manager since 2022, following a long tenure with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2009 to 2021. Despite the team’s 15–36 record during his time at the helm, Poles and his personnel staff have been widely credited with reshaping the roster. Over the past few years, they’ve successfully reloaded key positions by bringing in several notable players:
-
WR DJ Moore
-
WR Rome Odunze
-
-
DE Montez Sweat
-
LB TJ Edwards
-
CB Kyler Gordon
Now, the Bears will look to bring everything together on the field. In January, the team hired Ben Johnson as their new head coach, aligning him with GM Ryan Poles under contract through the 2029 season—a clear signal of long-term commitment and stability.
Chicago is set to kick off the 2025 NFL season under the primetime spotlight, facing the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football, September 8 at 8:15 p.m. ET.
