🚨 Gophers, Medved Offer 6’6″ Rising Star from Wayzata in 2026 Class

Niko Medved and the Gophers basketball program have offered a scholarship to Nolen Anderson, a 6’6″ wing from Wayzata in the 2026 recruiting class.

As a junior, Nolen Anderson was a key scorer for a Wayzata team that captured the Class 4A state championship. He delivered a standout performance in the title game against Cretin Derham Hall, finishing with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and four three-pointers.

Minnesota is the first major-conference program to extend an offer to Anderson, though Iowa is reportedly showing interest as well. The Hawkeyes’ new coaching staff, led by Ben McCollum, previously offered him while at Drake. Anderson also holds offers from mid-major programs such as Ohio, Toledo, Northern Iowa, and Illinois State, and he’s made a visit to St. Thomas (MN), according to GopherIllustrated.

While currently unrated by 247Sports, Anderson could rise in the rankings soon. Listed at 6’6″ (and sometimes 6’7″), he’s known for his three-point shooting and is working to develop more versatility and explosiveness heading into his senior season.

The Gophers currently have one commitment in their 2026 recruiting class: Cedric Tomes, a three-star point guard from East Ridge who posted impressive scoring numbers as a junior. He’s ranked No. 5 among rising seniors in Minnesota by 247Sports.

Minnesota has also offered several other top in-state prospects, including four-star wing Dothan Ijadimbola from Totino-Grace (No. 2 in the state) and three-star guard Jayden Moore from Hopkins (No. 3), who also excels on the football field. The state’s top-ranked 2026 player, Christian Wiggins—Anderson’s teammate at Wayzata—is committed to Iowa State. Another notable Gopher target is four-star big man Quinn Costello out of Boston.

This spring, Anderson suited up for D1 Minnesota 17U, a premier AAU team on the Adidas circuit. He played alongside Tomes, Wiggins, Ijadimbola, and 2027 Gophers commit Baboucarr Ann. The squad made a strong run, finishing as runner-up in a major tournament this past weekend in South Carolina.
