πŸ’ Minnesota Wild Lose Key Forward to Rival in Shocking Move

Former Minnesota Wild forward Gustav Nyquist signed a one-year, $3.25 million contract with the Winnipeg Jets on July 2.

The 35-year-old winger began last season with the Nashville Predators, where he had also played the previous year. Nyquist spent part of the 2022-23 season with the Wild before leaving in free agency and agreeing to a two-year deal with Nashville.

Following a strong first season with the Predators, Nyquist’s performance dipped last year, leading to a midseason trade back to Minnesota in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick. He registered two goals and seven points over 28 regular season games and was held scoreless in six playoff appearances.

When asked about his plans for free agency, Nyquist expressed interest in returning to the Wild for 2025-26. However, Minnesota chose to re-sign Marcus Johansson instead, paving the way for Nyquist to join Winnipeg on a one-year deal.
