The Oregon Ducks, closely tied to Nike, are known for their vibrant uniforms, electrifying Autzen Stadium, and top-tier facilities. The Hatfield-Dowlin Center in Eugene stands as the nation’s premier college football facility. Yet, the Ducks are pushing further with a transformative expansion of the center to boost their program and recruiting.
In an exclusive interview with reporter Bri Amaranthus, Oregon coach Dan Lanning shared his excitement about the project. “What stands out most is Oregon’s commitment to being the best,” Lanning said. “Our players see these incredible facilities and learn they’re only getting better. This new building will have a huge impact on our student-athletes.”
The expansion involves relocating two outdoor practice fields, with renderings of the futuristic fields gaining widespread attention online. The new facility will span 140,000 square feet, with an additional 30,000 square feet of renovations to the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex. Upgrades include enhanced prehab and rehab areas, an improved locker room setup, seamless transitions between walkthroughs and meeting rooms, and better dining options for players.
Lanning grinned, adding, “It’s super cool looking.”
The expansion of the Hatfield-Dowlin Center is entirely funded by donors, enabling other Oregon teams to gain greater access to the Moshofsky Center, where the football team currently holds indoor practices. Construction kicked off shortly after the 2024 season and is slated for completion in 2029.
Completed in 2013, the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex set a new standard with innovative features like self-cleansing lockers, a Nike breakthrough. The facility drew attention for its lavish details, including marble showers, Ferrari leather chairs, and a barber shop in the player lounge—a rarity at the time.
As Oregon continues to elevate its facilities, Autzen Stadium will welcome a thrilling lineup of opponents in 2025, including Montana State, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Indiana Hoosiers, Wisconsin Badgers, Minnesota Golden Gophers, and USC Trojans.
The Oregon Ducks’ 2025 home games offer a prime opportunity to showcase their prowess both on the field and through their elite facilities, especially for opposing fans visiting Eugene for the first time. Coming off their 2024-25 Big Ten Championship, the Ducks aim to defend their title, starting the season against Montana State on August 30 at 1 p.m. PT.
