Niko Medved Shocks Recruiting Trail With Commitment From Elite Shooter

Eden Prairie’s Nolen Anderson received a scholarship offer from the Gophers on July 14, and a little over two weeks later, he gave his verbal commitment to the program on Thursday.

The 6-foot-6 standout has been excelling on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit with local AAU team D1 Minnesota. After playing last season at Eden Prairie, he’s expected to suit up for Wayzata High School in the 2025-26 season.

According to the latest 247Sports Composite rankings, Anderson is a three-star prospect, rated No. 166 nationally and No. 4 in Minnesota. He picked the Gophers over offers from Virginia Tech, Drake, and Northern Iowa.

Though Niko Medved has only recently taken over as head coach, he’s already making a strong impact on in-state recruiting. Anderson becomes the second in-state commitment in the Gophers’ 2026 class, joining East Ridge guard Cedric Tomes.
