Summer Camp Ends with a Splash: Gophers Add Sniper to 2025 Class

The Golden Gopher men’s basketball team wrapped up summer camp this week with a full slate of activities, including a team bonding trip to Lake Minnetonka, an open practice for local media, and a final roster update on August 1. After a well-deserved break, the team is set to return to campus later this month.

The week also featured a major recruiting win. Eden Prairie native Nolen Anderson, a rising 6-foot-6 prospect currently excelling on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit with D1 Minnesota, announced his verbal commitment to the Gophers just over two weeks after receiving an offer on July 14. Anderson played his most recent high school season with Eden Prairie but is expected to suit up for Wayzata in 2025–26.

Rated a three-star recruit by 247Sports Composite, Anderson ranks No. 166 nationally and No. 4 in Minnesota. He chose the Gophers over offers from Virginia Tech, Drake, and Northern Iowa.

Although he’s only been on the job a few months, head coach Niko Medved continues to build momentum on the in-state recruiting front. Anderson is now the second Minnesota native to commit to the Gophers’ 2026 class, joining East Ridge guard Cedric Tomes.
