Dawn Plitzuweit and Gophers women’s basketball continue to surge on the recruiting trail, securing back-to-back commitments that add even more firepower to their 2026 class.
On Sunday, the Gophers landed 6-foot-4 forward Adit Kuol of The King’s Academy in Tennessee, who announced her decision following an official visit to Minneapolis. Kuol becomes the third prospect to commit this month, giving Minnesota even more size and versatility in its frontcourt.
Just a few days earlier, Minnesota picked up another headline recruit in Kylee Paben, a 6-foot-1 guard from Millard West (Neb.) and the No. 1 player in her state. Paben shined this summer on the Under Armour circuit, averaging nearly 20 points per game with Nebraska Attack. She chose the Gophers over several Division I offers after visiting campus last week.
Paben and Kuol now join five-star prospects Tori Oehrlein and Natalie Kussow, giving Minnesota four early commitments, including multiple top-40 national recruits. For Plitzuweit, who emphasized building through high school recruiting while navigating the transfer portal era, the payoff is clear: a 2026 class stacked with size, skill, and star power — and the promise of a bright future as the program heads into a pivotal third season under her leadership.
