Standing at 6-foot and weighing 286 pounds, Mo Omonode tallied 32 tackles, including six for loss, and 3.5 sacks over three seasons on Purdue’s defensive line. He wrapped up the 2024 season with a 61.7 pass rush grade from Pro Football Focus (PFF).

Omonode’s most impressive season came in 2023, when he earned an 84.1 pass rush grade from PFF on 151 snaps. That year, he notched two sacks and generated 16 total pressures during his sophomore campaign.

A former three-star recruit, Omonode was ranked the No. 19 player in Indiana by Rivals in the 2022 class, after amassing 23.5 sacks across just over 30 high school games.

He becomes Minnesota’s second addition from the spring transfer portal, joining Iowa cornerback John Nestor—both transfers coming from within the Big Ten. Omonode is expected to compete with Stony Brook transfer Rushawn Lawrence for a backup interior spot behind Deven Eastern and Jalen Logan-Redding.
