Fan Falls From Roberto Clemente Wall at Pirates Game

PITTSBURGH — A troubling incident occurred during a Pittsburgh Pirates game against the Chicago Cubs at PNC Park when a fan fell from the 21-foot Roberto Clemente Wall in right field onto the playing field.

The incident happened after Pirates designated hitter Andrew McCutchen hit a ball that deflected off Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson, allowing right fielder Bryan Reynolds and shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa to score, giving the Pirates a 4-3 lead.

Players from both teams paused out of respect as paramedics, police, and ushers rushed to assist. The fan was placed on a stretcher, moved to a medical cart, and removed from the field, allowing the game to resume.

The Pirates provided an update via Pittsburgh Baseball Now’s Danny Demilio, stating that the adult male was immediately attended to by Pittsburgh EMS, team athletic trainers, and PNC Park staff. He was transported to Allegheny General Hospital, with no further details available. The Pirates expressed their thoughts and prayers for the fan and his family.
