Baltimore Ravens Make No-Brainer Move with Notre Dame Star

When Kyle Hamilton unexpectedly slipped to the Baltimore Ravens at No. 14 in the 2022 NFL Draft, many anticipated the Notre Dame All-American would quickly become a difference-maker. Just three seasons in, he’s exceeded those expectations, earning All-Pro honors in each of the past two years.

So it’s no shock that the Ravens have officially exercised the fifth-year option on Hamilton’s rookie deal, securing him through the 2026 season. And at this rate, it’s only a matter of time before Hamilton lands one of the most lucrative contracts ever awarded to a safety.

The Ravens picking up Kyle Hamilton’s fifth-year option was about as easy a decision as an NFL front office will ever face. In just three seasons, the standout safety has racked up 250 tackles, five interceptions, four forced fumbles, and earned All-Pro recognition twice—a résumé that speaks for itself.

Hamilton was a star from the moment he stepped on the field at Notre Dame, where he played from 2019 to 2021. Despite missing the second half of his final season, he still notched eight interceptions over his college career and was named an All-American in 2021.

Since drafting Hamilton, the Ravens have made the playoffs every year, but they’re still chasing the franchise’s first Super Bowl appearance since their 2012 championship run. With Hamilton emerging as one of the league’s premier defenders, Baltimore is hoping he can be a key piece in finally getting them over the hump.
