Dolphins Pull Off Bold Roster Move, Land Elite All-Pro

NFL.com Pushes Buccaneers as Ideal Trade Destination for All-Pro CB Jalen Ramsey

The Miami Dolphins and All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey are reportedly on the same page about parting ways this offseason. A trade involving the former top-10 pick seems increasingly likely in the coming weeks.

While the Dolphins are carefully weighing offers to get fair value for Ramsey, teams across the league are evaluating whether he could be the missing piece to complete a Super Bowl-caliber roster.

Could the NFC South-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers be in the mix?

NFL.com’s Nick Shook suggests the Bucs might be the best landing spot for both Ramsey and the Dolphins.

“Tampa Bay has had a strong offseason as defending division champs,” Shook noted, pointing out the team’s infusion of young offensive talent, the re-signing of linebacker Lavonte David, and key veteran additions on defense. “But the secondary remains a weak spot, aside from standout defenders Jamel Dean and Antoine Winfield Jr.”

Given Ramsey’s hefty contract, Miami understands that moving him won’t be simple. They’re also unlikely to send him to an AFC team, since they still plan to compete in 2025.

That makes Tampa Bay a strategic trade partner. The Bucs offer a winning culture, an attractive city for Ramsey off the field, and no direct threat to Miami in the playoff race.

While a deal hasn’t been finalized—and a potential reunion with the Rams still lingers—it’s easy to see why a Buccaneers-Dolphins trade could materialize.
