Spartans Lock in Talented 3-Star Playmaker in 2027 Class

Michigan State Pursues 2027 Three-Star QB Braylen Warren with Scholarship Offer

The Michigan State Spartans have officially entered the race for 2027 quarterback Braylen Warren, a rising three-star prospect out of Omaha, Nebraska. Warren shared the news of receiving an offer from MSU on Thursday via X (formerly Twitter), signaling growing national interest in the standout sophomore. The Spartans may see Warren as a potential future leader under center.

Warren, who will be a junior at Omaha Westside High School next season, is coming off a strong campaign as the team’s starting quarterback. He led Westside to a 12–1 record and a deep playoff run, ultimately falling short in the NSAA Class 5A state championship game, 27–10.

Statistically, Warren impressed across the board. According to MaxPreps, he threw for 2,105 yards with a 67% completion rate, racking up 30 passing touchdowns, eight interceptions, and two rushing touchdowns while adding 175 rushing yards in 13 games.

Despite a tough performance in the title game—completing just 8 of 19 passes for 52 yards and two interceptions—Warren has shown significant promise. As a second-year player and first-year starter, he still has time to grow and lead his team back to the championship stage.

Per the 247Sports Composite rankings, Warren is currently the No. 2 overall player in Nebraska and ranks as the No. 26 quarterback nationally in the 2027 class.

He’s already drawn attention from major programs, receiving 13 offers from schools like Michigan, Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Texas, and Nebraska. Michigan State joins that competitive list as they continue evaluating talent to follow their current QB, Aidan Chiles, who is expected to complete his college career before Warren would arrive.

Warren is one of four quarterbacks MSU has offered in the 2027 class, with one already committed to Nebraska. Expect the Spartans to push for a campus visit, possibly bringing Warren to East Lansing this fall for a game day at Spartan Stadium. With top programs showing heavy interest, Michigan State will need to remain proactive in his recruitment.
