Gophers’ Dynamic Duo Sets The Net Ablaze With Their Sparkling Engagement Reveal

On Sunday, former Gophers basketball player Parker Fox shared that he’s engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Gophers hockey star Taylor Heise.

Fox posted on X, “Found my forever,” alongside engagement photos. Heise echoed the sentiment, noting she “added the most important ring to my collection,” a nod to her championship rings from the Gophers, Minnesota Frost, and USA Hockey.

Taylor Heise, a Gophers hockey legend, ranks among the program’s greatest women’s players, amassing 227 career points (97 goals, 130 assists) over five years. The Lake City native earned the 2021-22 Patty Kazmaier Award and was a two-time All-American. She now stars for the PWHL’s Minnesota Frost.

Parker Fox, a former Gophers basketball player, overcame two season-ending knee injuries to play two seasons, averaging 5.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. He’s now a media personality, frequently appearing on KFAN radio.

Fox and Heise’s engagement marks one of the Gophers’ most notable love stories. Another iconic Gophers power couple is John Pohl and Krissy Wendell (now Pohl), both Minnesota high school hockey stars who excelled at the U of M and turned pro. Their daughters are now standout players at Hill-Murray. Similarly, Andre Hollins and Rachel Banham, both exceptional Gophers point guards, form another prominent couple, with Hollins playing overseas and Banham enjoying a long WNBA career.
