In a heartfelt response to the catastrophic flash floods that ravaged Central Texas over the July 4th weekend, the Pittsburgh Pirates have donated an impressive $12 million to support victims and fund search and rescue efforts for those still missing. The devastating floods, which claimed numerous lives and left communities in Kerr County reeling, prompted an outpouring of support from sports organizations across the nation, with the Pirates leading the charge through their substantial contribution.
The team’s commitment extends beyond financial aid. Star outfielder Jack Suwinski, a key player in the Pirates’ 2025 lineup, personally traveled to the disaster-stricken area to assist with relief efforts. Suwinski, known for his athletic prowess and clutch performances at PNC Park, demonstrated his leadership off the field by joining volunteers in Kerrville to provide hands-on help.
