Cornhuskers Make Headlines with Surprise Commitment from Elite Defense Star

One of the top defensive prospects in the 2026 class is set to reveal his college decision on Friday. Four-star defensive lineman Valdin Sone will choose between Nebraska, Auburn, Florida, and Georgia.

Sone’s stock has been on the rise in recent months, especially after his appearance in the Navy All-American Bowl, where he notched a quarterback pressure. Georgia is currently considered the favorite to land his commitment.

This is a key recruitment for Nebraska to monitor. Defensive line coach Terry Bradden could play a pivotal role in the Huskers’ chances. With several young players developing at the position, adding depth along the defensive front remains a priority.

As it stands, Nebraska’s 2026 recruiting class includes 12 verbal commitments and is ranked No. 58 nationally and No. 17 in the Big Ten, per On3 and Rivals.
