As the Oregon Ducks prepare to kick off the 2025 season, head coach Dan Lanning and his staff are already making major strides toward the future, continuing to build momentum with the 2027 recruiting class.
According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Oregon secured a commitment Thursday from five-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman. The elite prospect picked the Ducks over powerhouse programs like Ohio State, LSU, and his home-state Tennessee Volunteers.
Bowman, who plays at Brentwood Academy in Tennessee, is ranked as a five-star recruit in the 247Sports composite rankings. He holds the top spot in Tennessee, ranks No. 5 among wide receivers nationally, and is the No. 23 overall prospect in the 2027 class.

Kesean Bowman’s Message
“Let’s do it, Sco Ducks!!” Bowman told Fawcett.
Bowman made an unofficial visit to Oregon on May 31 and had multiple visits to Tennessee. He also took an unofficial trip to North Carolina, where he met with coach Bill Belichick.
His recruitment drew widespread attention, with scholarship offers pouring in from top programs such as Texas, Florida, Michigan, Georgia, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Missouri, Ole Miss, SMU, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Auburn, Indiana, and many others.
Oregon Wide Receivers Coach Ross Douglas
Oregon wide receivers coach Ross Douglas played a pivotal role in securing Bowman’s commitment — a factor that seemingly tipped the scales in the Ducks’ favor.
“I spent three days in Oregon, and it was an amazing experience,” Bowman told Rivals’ Chad Simmons. “It was my first time on the West Coast, and the coaches made me feel welcomed and at home. I really connected with coach Douglas — we hung out a lot, and I enjoyed being around him and the rest of the staff. I’ll definitely be back for a game.”
Bowman’s Elite Family Roots
According to Michigan State Spartans on SI, Kesean Bowman comes from a strong football lineage. He is the nephew of three former college standouts: Oklahoma State wide receiver Adarius Bowman, Alabama receiver Mike Bowman, and Georgia cornerback Devin Bowman — a clear sign that the game runs in the family.
While landing Bowman is a major win, Oregon still has a long road ahead before the 2027 recruiting class becomes official. Head coach Dan Lanning and his staff will need to stay focused on holding Bowman’s commitment, especially with top programs likely to stay in pursuit. Oregon is no stranger to late-cycle drama, having lost multiple commits from both the 2025 and 2026 classes earlier this offseason.
Still, the talent pipeline headed to Eugene looks strong. The 2026 class already includes five-star prospects like safety Jett Washington, tight end Kendre Harrison, and offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho. They’re joined by highly rated four-star recruits such as running back Tradarian Ball and wide receiver Jalen Lott, among others.
The Ducks are set to open their 2025 regular season at home on August 30 against the Montana State Bobcats.
