BREAKING: 09 born (Northfield, MN) defenseman Ben Geiger has verbally committed to Gophers hockey.
Listed at 6-foot-1, he had 61 total points in his second season with Northfield HS last year. He's expected to join the NTDP in 2025-26. Another big in-state commit for Bob Motzko… pic.twitter.com/bW8tJSJkTc
Born in 2009, Geiger is still a few years away from suiting up for the Gophers, but his upside is clear. The 6-foot-1 forward piled up 61 points for Northfield High School last season, scoring 22 goals and adding 39 assists in just 30 games. He’s slated to join the U.S. National U17 Team (NTDP) next year, where he’ll team up with fellow Minnesota commit Wyatt Cullen.
Geiger becomes the Gophers’ sixth in-state pledge since July 28, and the second from the 2009 class, joining Lakeville product Gunnar Conboy. Head coach Bob Motzko and his staff continue to ride an impressive wave of recruiting momentum this summer.
