Over the past two decades, the University of Georgia has seen its fair share of college football legends, including notable names like Matthew Stafford, Nick Chubb, AJ Green, and Todd Gurley. Despite the continuous influx of top-tier talent, the Bulldogs have not produced a Heisman Trophy winner in almost four decades.

However, Carson Beck stands as a promising candidate to end this drought for Georgia. The quarterback, who amassed nearly 4,000 passing yards in the 2023 season, recently declared his decision to forego the NFL Draft and return to the Bulldogs for the 2024 season.

Beck’s impressive performance in 2023, coupled with his extensive four-year collegiate experience, positions him as one of the frontrunners for the Heisman Trophy next year.

Action Network reports that Beck currently holds +750 odds to clinch the prestigious award, sharing the same odds with fellow SEC quarterbacks Jalen Milroe and Quinn Ewers—both of whom he is set to face in the 2024 regular season. The Bulldogs, led by Beck, will kick off their 2024 campaign on August 31st against the Clemson Tigers, marking their first encounter since the Bulldogs secured a 10-3 victory to open the 2021 season.
