Outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (thigh) and cornerback Riq Woolen (ankle) both suffered injuries on consecutive plays in the first half. Woolen briefly returned but left again shortly after and did not re-enter the game.

Head coach Mike Macdonald confirmed that Nwosu has a thigh injury while Woolen is dealing with an ankle issue, but he didn’t provide further details.

With a 3-2 record, the Seahawks will play again in just four days, hosting the NFC West rival San Francisco 49ers (2-3) on Thursday night. Seattle currently holds a one-game lead in the division over both San Francisco and Arizona.

Seattle was already without defensive tackle Byron Murphy II (hamstring) and outside linebacker Boye Mafe (knee). However, general manager John Schneider indicated that Mafe was close to a return during the Seahawks Radio Network Pregame Show on Seattle Sports.

Nwosu made his season debut on Sunday, marking his first regular season game since suffering a season-ending pectoral injury last October against Arizona. He missed the first four games this season due to an MCL sprain sustained in the preseason finale against Cleveland.

Before his exit, Nwosu recorded three tackles (two solo, one assisted).

Woolen, in his third year, had missed just one game in his first two seasons and tallied four tackles (two solo, two assisted) before leaving the field.

With Woolen sidelined, rookie fifth-round pick Nehemiah Pritchett saw significant playing time, registering one tackle and Seattle’s only pass breakup of the day.

“He’s been practicing well and earned his spot on the field,” Macdonald said about Pritchett. “There’s going to be competition for roles based on Riq’s injury, but it was great to see him step up and make plays in the second half.”

Last week, the Seahawks faced Detroit without five key defensive players, losing another during the game. While most returned against the Giants, Seattle now has four defenders with uncertain statuses heading into their crucial matchup with the 49ers.
