The Rangers received a second-round pick and a fourth-round pick for the 2025 draft as part of the trade. Additionally, New York will retain 50% of Ryan Lindgren’s salary for the remainder of the season.

Lindgren, who has spent his entire seven-year career with the Rangers, is the key player in this deal. In 54 games this season, he has earned 19 points (two goals, 17 assists) and holds a +1 rating in plus/minus. Lindgren is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

At 31, Jimmy Vesey adds depth to the Avalanche’s forward group. He has tallied six points this season (four goals, two assists), averaging 10:40 of ice time across 33 games with the Rangers.

Colorado currently holds one of the two wild-card spots in the Western Conference with 72 points from 61 games. The Rangers, meanwhile, are outside the Eastern Conference playoff picture, sitting four points behind the final wild-card spot with 23 games remaining.

The NHL trade deadline is set for March 7 at 3 p.m. ET.
