Miami Dolphins Officially Part Ways With Defense Top Starter
The Miami Dolphins have waived defensive tackle Brandon Pili, the team announced. Pili spent two seasons with the Dolphins (2023-24), appearing in 12 games and recording a total of four tackles, two of which were solo. He also spent time on Miami’s practice squad during the 2023 season. Pili originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Dolphins in 2023.
Before his professional career, Pili played college football at USC from 2017 to 2022. During his time at USC, he appeared in 52 games, accumulating 74 tackles (28 solo), 3.5 sacks, four passes defensed, and one forced fumble. As a true freshman in 2017, Pili earned honorable mention All-Pac 12 honors after recording 14 tackles (three solo) and blocking a field goal. His college career was marked by his consistent presence on the field and ability to contribute in various defensive roles.
With his release from the Dolphins, Pili is now subject to the waiver process, meaning other NFL teams have the opportunity to claim him. If unclaimed, he will become a free agent and can sign with any team.
