Bryan Mbeumo injury: Thomas Frank reveals latest on Brentford forward after Brighton loss

Brentford is currently awaiting news on the extent of Bryan Mbeumo’s injury after the Cameroonian forward was forced off during Wednesday night’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton.

Mbeumo, who had earlier converted a penalty to give Brentford the lead, exited the match late in the first half with an ankle issue.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank confirmed the injury and stated that the severity is yet to be determined, with an assessment scheduled for the day before their upcoming game against Sheffield United on Saturday. Frank acknowledged the challenges posed by injuries but urged caution in jumping to conclusions, emphasizing the need to see how serious Mbeumo’s injury is.

Losing Mbeumo, who has taken on a crucial attacking role in the absence of the suspended Ivan Toney, would be a significant setback for Brentford. The team is already grappling with various injury concerns, including the absence of key players like Nathan Collins, Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, Kevin Schade, Kristoffer Ajer, Mathias Jensen, Josh Dasilva, and the suspension of Christian Norgaard.
