Following this, the club informed him that he was free to explore other options, but with limited opportunities in the NRL, a move to the Super League seemed probable. The decision to part ways with him was likely to create space for the Bulldogs to sign Catalans Dragons forward Siuasiou Taukeiaho, who expressed a desire to return to Australia after just one season in the Super League.
Despite reportedly securing a two-year deal with the Bulldogs, Taukeiaho’s move fell through due to a failed medical examination, prompting his return to France. However, the Bulldogs have reversed their decision and opted to retain the forward.
In clarifying the situation, he mentioned a bit of miscommunication and assured the club of his mental readiness to resume training. He acknowledged dealing with off-field issues but expressed relief that everything has been sorted out.
He confirmed his commitment to staying at Belmore, emphasizing his leadership role, especially with a mostly inexperienced forward pack for the 2024 season. With two years left on his contract, he dismissed the possibility of leaving anytime soon, expressing a strong desire to contribute to the success of the club.
As a result, it is now clear that he will not be joining the Super League in the near future, and Taukeiaho’s aspirations for a move to the Bulldogs have been definitively thwarted.
