Newcastle United is set to pursue the acquisition of a highly-regarded forward in the January transfer window, drawing comparisons to Paulo Dybala. Despite currently holding the sixth position in the Premier League, the team has faced challenges, including exits from the Champions League and the League Cup semi-final. Nevertheless, the club’s outlook may improve with potential new signings on the horizon.

Recent recruits such as Alexander Isak, Sandro Tonali, and Bruno Guimaraes, who joined Newcastle after the purchase by PIF in 2021, have injected talent into the squad. The latest player on their radar is Matias Soule, currently on loan at Frosinone from Juventus. According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Newcastle aims to secure Soule’s signature in January.

Soule, a left-footed right-winger, has garnered attention for his impressive dribbling skills, drawing comparisons to compatriots Paulo Dybala and Angel Di Maria. His standout performances in Serie A, contributing six goals and an assist in 15 games this season, have made him a sought-after prospect.

Despite Juventus keeping tabs on Soule, the club is reportedly open to letting the 20-year-old leave in January for the right price, estimated to be around £22 million. Newcastle United appears willing to meet this valuation for the talented winger, and Juventus is reportedly increasingly inclined to accept such an offer.

Given the current lack of fit right-wingers in the squad, with Miguel Almiron being the sole option, Soule could provide valuable depth and quality to Eddie Howe’s team, which has been hampered by injuries this season. Soule, with two-and-a-half years remaining on his Juventus contract, is currently valued at £7 million by Transfermarkt.
