Despite an impressive 2024 recruiting class, the Miami Hurricanes were unable to secure the commitment of their top prospect, Jeremiah Smith, who opted for Ohio State, committing a year ago and recently signing his letter of intent with the Buckeyes.

The Miami Hurricanes’ staff went above and beyond, rolling out the red carpet for Smith and his family during numerous unofficial and official visits. While the efforts were commendable, unfortunately, the Canes couldn’t secure his commitment.

Smith, a standout wide receiver from South Florida Express and Chaminade-Madonna in Hollywood, Florida, consistently made clutch catches, showcasing his rare abilities on the field. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 210 pounds, Smith effectively used his impressive length to his advantage, as evidenced by a notable touchdown catch.

In the latest recruiting rankings, Smith earned high marks from the four primary services, both nationally and within his position and state. His all-around skills are noteworthy, with smooth route running, exceptional hands, precise timing, and outstanding effort for a high school senior. A comprehensive profile of Smith highlights his prowess as a playmaker.

As Smith embarks on his journey with the Buckeyes, the Miami Hurricanes wish him the best. He has been a joy to cover during his time at Chaminade-Madonna and South Florida Express.
