GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA — If you can’t beat them, you should join them.

Trevor Etienne appears to be following an ancient adage.

The former Florida Gators running back revealed his move to rival Georgia on social media on Sunday.

Florida Gators running back Trevor Etienne runs for TD at LSU Tigers in second half, Nov. 11, 2023

Etienne, who entered the transfer portal after the Gators went 5-7 this season, split carries with Montrell Johnson Jr. and rushed for 753 yards and a team-high eight touchdowns.
He’ll most likely be the starting running back for the Bulldogs, who are losing their top two rushers from the 2023 season.

The Gators have lost the last three meetings against their SEC rivals, including a 43-20 defeat in October.

Travis Etienne, a former Clemson and current Jacksonville Jaguars running back, is Etienne’s younger brother.
