This week, the Washington Commanders opted to replace second-year quarterback Sam Howell with veteran Jacoby Brissett. The decision seems to stem from a straightforward reason: Howell’s performance fell below expectations.

During a recent press conference, Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy emphasized the need for improved quarterback play, stating that Howell simply didn’t meet the standard.

Bieniemy noted that Jacoby Brissett, who stepped in and ignited a comeback in the recent games, demonstrated the ability to rally the team. Despite the challenging situation, Bieniemy highlighted the camaraderie within the quarterback room, with mutual support among the players.

With Brissett taking the reins, the team hopes for a positive impact on the offense. It remains to be seen whether Brissett’s involvement will bring the spark that was lacking with Howell at the helm.
