Atlanta Falcons supporters are pleading for the return of Deion Sanders as their head coach, following the dismissal of Arthur Smith after a disappointing 2023 season.

Despite facing challenges in his inaugural season with the Colorado Buffaloes and focusing on assembling a formidable recruiting class for the 2024 program, Sanders gained attention in NFL circles when the Dallas Cowboys expressed interest in having him replace Mike McCarthy, especially after the Buffaloes’ promising start in September.

While it seems unlikely that Sanders will leave the Buffaloes to join the Falcons this offseason, there is a possibility of him having a sentimental connection to Atlanta. The Falcons originally drafted Sanders with the fifth overall pick in the 1989 NFL Draft, and he remained with the team until the end of the 1993 season.

During his tenure with the Falcons, Sanders achieved All-Pro honors three times and made three Pro Bowl appearances.
