Earlier this week, there was a significant development in the Alabama football program with the retirement announcement of head coach Nick Saban. Subsequently, Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer was appointed to lead the program. Following this news, it is anticipated that some players will leave the program, and indeed, a few have already made that decision.
Among them is defensive back Jake Pope, who revealed his commitment to the Bulldogs. Despite Pope entering the transfer portal before Saban’s retirement was announced, he promptly chose to return to his home state. Notably, Pope still has three years of eligibility left in his collegiate football career.
