Despite Tennessee’s overall success in the 2025 recruiting season, there have been setbacks. Shamar Arnoux, a cornerback from Carrollton High School in Georgia and Tennessee’s initial commitment for the 2025 class, announced his decommitment on Saturday night. Arnoux, who was formerly a teammate of Vols corner commits Dylan Lewis and Tyler Redmond, revealed his decision after visiting Georgia on the same day he initially committed to the University of Tennessee. Despite this development, the Volunteers still maintain a strong recruiting class with various promising defensive back prospects. Arnoux’s visit to Georgia, as shared on social media, raised eyebrows, especially given the simultaneous presence of key recruiting targets like Cameron Sparks and Ethan Utley on Tennessee’s campus for a major event. The situation has now become clearer with Arnoux’s decommitment. Despite these challenges, the Volunteers currently hold the No. 11 spot in the 247Sports’ Composite Rankings for the 2025 recruiting class.
