According to reports from NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo on Wednesday, Flacco is set to sign a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts, potentially earning up to $8.7 million, with $4.5 million guaranteed.
After a year of waiting for genuine interest from NFL teams, Flacco remained unsigned into the regular season until Cleveland reached out in desperation, eventually leading to a successful stint with the Browns. His impressive performance included setting a franchise record by throwing for over 300 yards in four consecutive games and securing a playoff spot for the team.
Having initially resigned himself to the possibility of not receiving any calls from NFL teams, Flacco’s success in Cleveland has earned him another opportunity, this time with the Colts. The Colts sought a seasoned backup to support their promising young quarterback Anthony Richardson, following Gardner Minshew’s departure for Las Vegas.
