Mills, hailing from Homestead (Fla.) High School, has garnered attention from top-tier programs including Miami, Florida State, Florida, UCF, and others. Despite considering various offers, Mills has revealed a preference for Miami, citing its proximity and the dedicated recruitment efforts of the coaching staff, particularly Mario Cristobal and assistant coaches like Kevin Beard and David Cooney.

While Mills has scheduled official visits to other universities, including Clemson, Florida, and Nebraska, he acknowledges Miami’s strong position on his list. To sway him from choosing the Hurricanes, rival programs must intensify their recruitment efforts and demonstrate a commitment level exceeding that of Miami’s.

Mills aims to make his college decision after completing his official visits, with a tentative timeline set for the end of summer, prior to the commencement of the football season.
