The Pittsburgh Steelers have been quite active during the offseason. In addition to acquiring Russell Wilson and Justin Fields through trades, they’ve also secured the signatures of nine more players through free agency. Now, all these new signings have been assigned their respective jersey numbers, listed below:
- QB Justin Fields: 2
- QB Russell Wilson: 3
- QB Kyle Allen: 4
- P Cameron Johnston: 5
- LB Patrick Queen: 6
- WR Van Jefferson: 11
- WR Quez Watkins: 16
- S DeShon Elliott: 25
- CB Donte Jackson: 26
- RB/KR Cordarrelle Patterson: 84
- DT Dean Lowry: 94
A minor controversy arose when Patterson hinted at potentially wearing the number 84, prompting former Steelers receiver Antonio Brown to call him out.
Brown’s post about it seemed more like a playful jest than anything serious. Regardless, Patterson ultimately opts to wear No. 84.
Initially, there were some guesses that Justin Fields might go with No. 5, but he ultimately settles on wearing No. 2, previously worn by Mason Rudolph.
