Mitch Marner’s performance has long been scrutinized by Toronto Maple Leafs fans, but this year the criticism has reached new heights.

After Marner’s outburst on the bench during game four against the Boston Bruins, it seemed like everyone in the hockey world joined the chorus of Marner haters, eager for attention on social media.

I’ll admit, seeing Marner throw his gloves in frustration wasn’t a good look, but it doesn’t change my opinion of him as a player.

True, Marner hasn’t always shined in the playoffs, but that’s in the past.

In his last 22 playoff games, Marner has scored 24 points, averaging 1.09 points per game while facing the toughest matchups. This is slightly lower than his regular season performance, where he averaged 1.27 points per game over his last three seasons.
