BREAKING: Louisville lands a three-star lead over Franklin, Tenn.

Just days after an impressive official visit to Louisville, Eric Hazzard, an edge prospect from Franklin, Tennessee, committed to the Cardinals. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound, three-star athlete became the 11th member of Louisville’s 2025 recruiting class. After visiting Louisville last weekend, he narrowed his choices to Louisville and Memphis.

Hazzard described his experience at Louisville as outstanding, mentioning the warm hospitality and highlights of the city, including Churchill Downs and the Yum! Center, as well as a detailed tour of the football facilities.

His bond with the coaching staff, including head coach Brohm and defensive coaches English, Hagan, Morris, and Ivey, grew stronger during the visit. He appreciated the opportunity to connect with them on a deeper level.

Louisville’s staff sees great potential in Hazzard, who is ranked as the No. 91 edge prospect nationally by the 247Sports Composite. They believe he has the talent to excel in the ACC, considering him an underrated player.

Hazzard received over a dozen scholarship offers, including those from Memphis, Western Kentucky, UAB, Charlotte, and Middle Tennessee State. In his junior year, he was a semifinalist for Mr. Football in Division I, Class 5-A, with 70 tackles, 23 for loss, 12.5 sacks, and seven pass deflections.
