The recent mishap with Fanatics’ MLB jerseys has left the  in a frustrating position. According to reports, the Cardinals won’t have their victory blue jerseys until June, while the Mariners are still awaiting their cream jerseys.

Fanatics, the manufacturer responsible for this season’s Nike-designed jerseys, is unable to ship them until they’re back in stock, causing delays for both teams. The Mariners had to resort to wearing their white jerseys for a recent game against the Boston Red Sox, disappointing fans who were anticipating the cream jerseys.

This isn’t the first time Fanatics has faced criticism. Back in February, MLB players voiced concerns about the poor quality of the jerseys. MLBPA executive Tony Clark expressed collective frustration, acknowledging that adjustments were necessary.

Players like Taylor Ward of the Angels criticized the jerseys for feeling “papery” and not meeting their price point, while others likened them to knockoffs. Another notable flaw was the see-through white pants, which became apparent during a photo shoot with Shohei Ohtani.

Clark emphasized that both the league and Nike are aware of these concerns and are working towards resolving the issues. However, it’s clear that improvements are needed to ensure that future jersey orders meet the expected standards.
