In addition to Coleman, Xavier Worthy, a speedy player from the Texas Longhorns, saw a notable climb in the rankings, jumping six spots following his record-breaking 4.21 40-yard dash at the recent NFL Scouting Combine. On the other hand, Worthy’s teammate, Adonai Mitchell, dropped two spots in the rankings, likely attributed to his average performance in measurements.

Former Florida State Football Wide Receiver Keon Coleman: Receives High Praise From NFL Draft Expert

Keon Coleman, the former standout wide receiver from Florida State Seminoles, has ascended two positions on Daniel Jeremiah’s top 50 big board. Despite clocking a 4.61 40-yard dash, which positions him outside the top 80% among runners in his position group, Coleman stands out for his imposing physical stature, measuring at 6-foot-3 and 213 pounds. Moreover, he ranks within the top 20% of his position in both vertical jump (38 inches) and broad jump (10 feet 7 inches), showcasing his exceptional athleticism in key areas.

Jeremiah characterizes Coleman as lacking optimal vertical speed, yet possessing the ability to excel in high-jump situations and secure catches amidst tight coverage. He further notes Coleman’s exceptional highlight reel, featuring numerous remarkable one-handed catches, which stand out as some of the best in this year’s draft class.

Despite not boasting eye-popping statistics during his time at Florida State, Coleman still managed to contribute significantly, tallying 11 touchdowns in the previous season and aiding in the Seminoles’ achievement of an undefeated regular season. Over his final two seasons at the university, the lengthy wide receiver amassed 108 receptions, 1,456 yards, and 18 touchdowns, showcasing consistent performance and effectiveness on the field.

Florida State Football: Well Represented in Top 50

In addition to Keon Coleman, the Florida State Seminoles have two other representatives featured on Daniel Jeremiah’s top 50 big board. Leading the pack among former Seminoles is senior edge rusher Jared Verse, who is anticipated to be a top-20 pick in the upcoming NFL draft. Verse demonstrated his prowess during his tenure at Florida State, recording impressive numbers with 29.5 tackles for loss (TFLs) and 18 sacks over the course of two years.

Moreover, interior defensive lineman Braden Fiske has also secured a spot among Jeremiah’s top 50 prospects. Weighing in at 300 pounds, Fiske showcased his athleticism at last month’s combine by running a sub-4.80 40-yard dash. In the 2023 season, he contributed significantly with six sacks and nine TFLs, further solidifying his standing as a promising prospect in the draft.
