We’re just seven days away from the 2024 NFL Draft, and the Arizona Cardinals are holding onto the No. 4 overall pick. It seems they’ll keep it until they’re officially on the clock, with other teams attempting to sway GM Monti Ossenfort into trading it away. Whether Arizona will stick with their spot or opt to trade down remains to be seen, ending months of speculation.

The Denver Broncos seem eager to make a significant offer, with rumors suggesting they might use cornerback Patrick Surtain II as part of a package to move up in order to grab a quarterback. Interestingly, both the Cardinals and the Los Angeles Chargers, who hold the fifth pick, are in need of a cornerback. Any potential trade from the Broncos is likely to include future first-round picks, Surtain, and possibly the 12th selection in this year’s draft.

Following Russell Wilson’s departure to free agency, the Broncos are on the hunt for a quarterback, possibly targeting Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy or Oregon QB Bo Nix in a trade-up scenario.

The Cardinals would be interested in acquiring Surtain, a standout player in his position at just 24 years old, along with an additional first-round pick. Sources suggest discussions for a potential deal between the Broncos and Cardinals were initiated during the NFL Owner’s Meetings, with Broncos head coach Sean Payton expressing cautious optimism about the possibility.

Rumors also link the Minnesota Vikings to a potential move up, with Arizona reportedly asking for three first-round picks in exchange. NFL insider Peter Schrager even proposed a mock draft scenario where the New York Giants engage in trade talks with the Cardinals.
